Default A Detailed Guide To Tanking In FoW

Well...no offense but a lot of Warriors have no idea what they are doing in fow! So I will be presenting a guide to fix this problem...

A few things you should know:
-A Warrior is not always ment to do damage.
-A Warrior's main job is to protect the casters by blocking the physical damage.
-If you are planning on getting armor for your warrior get full glads (Except 1 Ascalon piece). This will give you bonus energy and the "Reduce Damage From Attacks" feature does not stack...

This would be an example of a good armor set:

http://img48.imageshack.us/my.php?image=armor54uf.jpg
So 1 piece (Helmet for me) is ascalon...the rest is gladiator.

15k Grotoo::
I would go with all gladiator and then ascalon boots

Droknar's Forge:
Go with All Glad's then 1 piece of Ascalon (Your choice)

How To Tank:
Tanking is the most important part of bieng a tank in fow...
And it is fairly simple.
Make sure all the casters stay back until you are ready. Go in and block the physical damage (Warriors, Shadows (If possible), Abyssals, Berserkers, etc...
When you have that down try and agro they physical damage to the casters (Monks Eles Mesmers, etc... and then your nukers can nuke everything at once.
If a group is large take out a long bow and agro...then switch to your axe and begin tanking the group that runs at you.
If you do overagro do not run away until either a member of your party with ressurection is safe or they are all dead.
Also do not cast to much at once...
Never Tank Numerous Groups!
Watch out for patrols!
Cast Stances before entering a group!

Builds:

Skills:
Warrior / Mesmer
Healing Signet, Cyclone Axe, Eviscerate*, Berserker's Stance, Dolyak Signet, Hex Breaker, Shatter Hex
Attributes:
8 Domination
11 Strength

**That is just a build you can start with...more will be listed at a differant time

Berserker Stance: You attack 33% faster and gain more adrenaline.
Endure Pain: Raises Health by a lot for a short period.

you can basically just shuffle these builds around and it will work...try not to use more than 4 attributes at once onless you have completed the attribute quests.

I think considering this is a guide to tanking, the skills for doing damage should be removed, i never see a war with Eviscerate in FOW. Same with mending, thats going to get removed and going to be more of a pain than anything.

Also: "try not to use more than 4 attributes at once onless you have completed the attribute quests." If you havent done the attribute pt quests you shouldnt be in FOW =P

Nice guide.

1 thing caught my eye though, if you look at the "my build" image, at the axe,
you can see that it is customized for "Demarcus Johannus", while your name is
Morgan Frensley.

Haha!

Nice guide but u seem to concentrate more on builds/weapons etc. than on the actually tanking itself. only 1 sentence: (ofcourse this is what u must do but maybe ppl will not fully understand what u mean)

'Make sure all the casters stay back until you are ready. Go in and block the physical damage (Warriors, Shadows (If possible), Abyssals, Berserkers, etc...'

This is how I tank: Make sure casters and monks stay out ur aggro when u go in, go in, then try to survive a few secs (so try to be self-sufficient, although spellbreaker is always nice and i ask monks to bring that to fow) so enemies get around u, if u can try to walk to the casters, and after a few secs when enemies are still hacking into u, the casters can come and unleash their attacks, but still they need to make sure they dont come too close.
Sometimes its hard to hold the enemies on u, because sometimes the casters rush in too soon, they come too close etc. but i think it al comes down on this, and I tank this way.
Whatch yourself + dolyak signet + spellbreaker is usually enough to get almost 0 dmg from all attacks. but sometimes when i don't trust the party I switch ele secondary and bring armor of earth and obsidian flesh (drop whatch urself) and this way i really can't die. but then again, when those ppl rush in too soon its (almost) impossible to get ur aggro back.

If some1 tanks in another way/have commentary/tips, plz respond

Imagelinks fixed

ebay fow
I'll let you guys figure out why...

edit:

ok if you haven't figure out why.. look at his runes
If it was the same person who wrote the guide then I'd say delete this thing. But maybe the OP is in the same guild as the guy in the pictures... then I suggest leaving that guild asap or deleting the fow warrior from your friendslist because it is very likely that he is an ebayer if he doesn't even know that absorbs don't stack.

It could happen that ANet thinks you're part of the "network" and ban you too.

Seriously, I hope this a joke or something

I go hide now...
